I want to start out by saying that I have been a customer there for approximately 5 years. My main issue started this past July when the person I usually went to retired. The new person I went to was giving me a perm and a haircut. When it was time for the perm to be checked and have the conditioner put on, the stylist did not check to see if my perm was where it should be and just went on to the next step. It looked good at the time but within 1 month the top half of my head had little perm left. During this visit I also asked to have a shorter hairstyle than I walked in with. We went through every book in the place but if I saw a hairstyle I liked but wanted the back along the neckline shorter the stylist could not cut it that way because she needed to see the exact haircut. When the perm died out I called to question how they would fix it. I went in to see the manager and she wet my hair and kept bunching it up in her hands to make it look curly. She then said it may just need a haircut. I saw another person there for the cut but as soon as she washed my hair it went straight. I told the manager at the time that the cut wasn't going to help it and I needed a partial perm for the straight top half of my head. She said I needed to have my hair long enough to wrap around the rods so I told her I would call at the end of Sept when I returned. She said OK. When I returned I contacted them via their website to advise I was back and wanted to schedule. No reply from them. After a week I called saying why no call back. They claimed their website wasn't working. I scheduled the perm and another cut which I knew I would have to pay for. When I get there I am advised by the manager that I took too long to notify them of the problem and I would have to pay the full price. I said I told her about it in a month and she OK'd the time frame. She kept focusing on it being too many weeks now. I also said it's not my fault if their website wasn't working. She didn't care. I said she should have advised ahead of time that I had to pay for everything. She didn't care. At one point even the receptionist got into it because they were bound to prove I was wrong even though it was OK'd for after our vacation. Didn't even offer a partial discount on the perm. I did stay for the perm because I had limited free time and I was there. At the end I was asked by the receptionist if I was leaving her a tip out of my payment. When I said no, she gave me a dirty look. So I told her that her time ran out on offering a discount. Then her whole attitude changed. Half threw my credit card back at me along with the receipt. I didn't care because if they don't have the decency to stick to what they agreed to or even tell me there was a time frame to do this work in or even take into account that their website didn't allow my message to get to them then they didn't need a time. And by the way, honey, tipping is optional and is done by how good we like the service. It's not mandatory. Running a business so the customer wants to come back so you stay employed is. I never complained about anything there before but they lost me as a customer. I advise you go elsewhere as well.

Worst hair cutting experience of my life. Absolutely no personality from ANY of the staff. Was there with two nervous little girls donating their hair and it was like we were bothering them. Should have stayed with Supercuts in Guilford or Old Saybrook. They are friendly and welcoming and I think they actually went to school to learn how to cut hair. Will never be back and most certainly will never recommend. I am only putting one star because it wont let me post if I don't. Not even worthy of one star.

Very welcoming friendly staff. Tea coffee or bottle water available. Coupons and samples. I had Bridget and am so happy with my hair.
